Sequential Dialing: get through a call block without touching the dial pad
One click and the dialer works through your call tasks, trying every number and logging the misses, and only pauses when a human picks up.

What it actually does
A rep picks their call tasks and clicks start. The dialer calls the first prospect, tries each of their valid numbers, logs a no-answer automatically, and moves to the next, without the rep clicking anything. When someone actually answers, it stops so the rep can talk. After the call, the rep logs it and the dialer carries on.
Paired with the option to skip call steps for prospects with no valid number, reps stop wasting time on dead ends.
Who it's for
SDRs and any rep who spends real time on the phone. Admins switch it on.
Why it matters
Far fewer clicks per call block means more conversations per hour.
How it's grown so far this year
FEB
Sequential Dialing launches, plus auto-skipping call steps with bad numbers.
MAY
Voicemail Drop admins can turn on themselves.
AUG
Manual voicemail inside the dialer.
SEP
Clearer status messages when a call doesn't connect.
How to set it up
Give reps permission (admins)
Turn on the profile permission "Use sequential dialing in call tasks."
Set up dispositions (admins)
Go to Administration › Calls › Dispositions. Edit a disposition and select "Sequential dialing - no voicemail left." Set default dispositions for Busy and Failed too, so those outcomes don't pause the session.
Skip bad numbers automatically
In a ruleset, turn on "Automatically skip call steps for invalid or missing numbers," then apply that ruleset to each sequence.
Start dialing (reps)
Select two or more call tasks, click Start sequential dialing and press play. After a live call, choose "Log call and continue," "Log call only" or "Log call and complete." Press play again to end the session.
Record a voicemail drop (reps)
Go to Personal Settings › Voice › Voicemail, choose "When calling (voice drop)," click Record new message, and set it as your default.
Steps paraphrased from Outreach's Sequential Dialing, auto-skip and voicemail drop articles. Outreach doesn't document the admin switch for Voicemail Drop or the rep setting for manual voicemail. Menu names can change; check them against your org.
