Your team's favorite AI assistant can look up accounts, read Kaia call transcripts, create tasks and add prospects to sequences, without anyone opening Outreach. Here's exactly what it can and can't do.
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for AI assistants to plug into other software. Outreach's MCP Server is that plug for Outreach. Once it's on, you can ask your AI assistant something like "Help me prepare for my next call with Acme," and it pulls the account, the deal, recent calls and emails straight from Outreach to answer.
It works as you. Every person signs in with their own Outreach account, and the AI can only see and do what that person is already allowed to see and do. Today it offers 44 tools across accounts, prospects, deals, sequences, tasks, Kaia calls and email.
Teams that already work in an outside AI tool. RevOps or an admin switches it on; everyone else connects their own assistant.
Outreach becomes a source of answers and actions inside whatever AI workspace your company has standardized on.

*Deleting is off by default and every delete asks for confirmation. Table summarizes the tools listed in Outreach's MCP Server article.
It can't edit anything that already exists. No updating a deal stage, changing a prospect's title or rescheduling a task. Outreach says it left editing out on purpose, for reliability. So the MCP Server is great for finding answers and creating new work, and the wrong tool for cleaning up old data.
The first three are adapted from Outreach's own examples.
Outreach lists Claude (desktop and web), ChatGPT and Codex, Salesforce Agentforce, Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft 365 copilots, Google Gemini (command line), AWS Bedrock and Amazon Quick, and developer tools like Visual Studio Code. Any AI tool that supports user-level sign-in and Dynamic Client Registration should also work.
Go to Administration › Organization › Org Info and turn on MCP Server. Creating records is on by default; deleting is off. If the switch is greyed out, Amplify probably isn't enabled.
Each person makes sure their default browser is signed in to the correct Outreach instance.
Add Outreach as a connector in your AI tool. It usually opens a browser window to sign in. Complete the Outreach sign-in and any multi-factor prompts.
Sign out of every Outreach instance in your browser, disconnect Outreach in your AI tool, fully restart the tool, then reconnect.
