So far this year, Outreach has shipped 20 updates to Kaia, its call recording and coaching assistant. They're scattered across ten monthly release notes. We put them in order and translated them out of support-ticket English.
Each spike is a month. The taller it is, the more Kaia shipped. Tap a month to jump to it.
February was the foundation. Kaia started producing custom call summaries, sending them to Slack, and pulling in calls it never recorded itself.
You write a short list of questions, like "What did they say about budget?" or "What needs to happen before handoff?" Kaia answers them for every recorded call. Admins can build templates for the whole company and reps can make their own.
Read the full AI Summaries guide →After a meeting, Kaia can post the summary to Slack with a link back to the recording. Nobody has to go looking for it.
If your team uses Nooks or Orum to power-dial, those calls now get the same Kaia analysis as calls made inside Outreach.
Read the full guide to getting every call into Kaia →When a manager fills out a coaching card on a call, Kaia proposes answers to the questions. The manager reviews them instead of starting from a blank form.
New buttons at the top of a recording let you share it or start a follow-up email without leaving the page.
Recordings and transcripts are now available through Outreach's public API, with alerts when new ones arrive. Useful if you feed call data into another system.
April is the month Kaia moved from "helpful notes" to "coaching at scale." This is the chapter most sales leaders will care about.
Kaia looks across all your calls and connects what gets discussed (products, competitors, objections) to whether you won or lost. It answers questions like "When competitor X comes up, how often do we win?" You'll see it in the app as "AI Topic Explorer."
Read the full guide to Topic Explorer and auto-scoring →You set the rules ("score every discovery call over 20 minutes"), and Kaia fills out and scores the coaching card automatically. You can weight some questions more than others.
Admins can now turn live meeting capture and recording collection on or off by person and by meeting tool, including Zoom.
May made Kaia more collaborative and closed the gap for meetings Kaia couldn't join.
What used to be called "notes" in Kaia are now "comments." Tag a teammate and they get notified. Think of it as a comment thread on the call.
Admins can pick one AI Summary template as the company default. It's used on recording pages, in post-meeting emails, in shared links, and in anything synced to other systems. Everyone gets the same format.
Met a customer in person and recorded it on your phone? Upload the audio or video file and Kaia analyzes it like any other call. It accepts mp4, wav, mp3, mov and m4a files.
Two small but welcome updates. Neither is headline material, but both remove a daily annoyance.
Kaia's recording-consent page, where guests agree to be recorded, now supports Webex meetings too. There's also a new "Add Kaia meeting" button in the Outlook add-in.
Captions now show while you play back a recording. Handy for reviewing calls in a noisy office or with the sound off.
This stretch was all about connections. Gong recordings flow in, calls get matched to the right deal, and Kaia gets better at telling your team from theirs.
Connect your Gong account and Kaia pulls in Gong recordings so they get Kaia's analysis and coaching. You choose to sync everything, or only recordings hosted by people who are active Outreach users.
Read the full guide to getting every call into Kaia →When a recording isn't tied to an account or opportunity, Kaia suggests the one it most likely belongs to.
Colleagues on a call who don't have a Kaia license are now recognized as your side, based on their email domain. Talk-time stats and summaries stop treating your sales engineer like a buyer.
Fewer prompts to sign in to Zoom again, which means fewer meetings Kaia quietly missed.
Admins can set up a daily bulk export of Kaia data to SFTP, Amazon S3 or Azure themselves.
A September follow-up to the tagging fix: you can now tag an unlicensed employee who joined a call and link them to a prospect record. Outreach hasn't published a how-to article for this one yet.
