CRM sync and the API: the 2025 changes that matter
In 2025 Outreach changed how its API counts records, cleaned up CRM syncing and, in November, added a guided way to map fields.

What it actually does
Guided CRM sync walks you through adding a field mapping and checks field types as you go, so mistakes get caught before they cause sync errors.
Two other changes matter if you look after integrations: API list requests stopped returning a record count unless you ask for one, and Outreach started checking every object for deleted records.
Who it's for
Admins who manage CRM sync, and developers who maintain integrations.
Why it matters
Fewer sync errors, and no scripts that quietly break.
How it grew in 2025
JAN
A CRM Sync tile on the default admin dashboard.
FEB
API counts only with count=true.
AUG
Delete checks on every object, and automatic Salesforce user remapping.
NOV
Guided CRM sync, plus email activity and Creator Type syncing.
How to set it up
Open CRM Sync
As an admin, go to Settings › Integrations › CRM Sync.
Add a mapping
Open an object mapping and click Add mapping to open the side panel.
Pick your fields
Choose the fields. Outreach checks field types and won’t save a reference field until the referenced type is mapped.
Save
Click Save.
Update API scripts
If a custom integration reads record totals from list requests, add &count=true.
